SAF Mourning Pins

Funeral mourning pins, traditionally symbolic of familial relations through its coloured fabric, have been reinterpreted as pixelated green for our fallen soldiers in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

SYNOPSIS

Packaged seemingly like a SAF eMart product, it brings into question the recurrence of NSF deaths during peacetime operations, as the norm or even a “necessary sacrifice”. With each tragic episode, the nation mourns with our faith badly shaken once more.

By pinning it onto the sleeves of white mourning garment is a silent act for greater accountability and transparency in the SAF. To our fallen soldiers, you have done your duty. To honour you is ours.
