Plastic Pacific is an artwork commissioned by School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA) to promote one of the school core values among their students, People-centredness.

SYNOPSIS
Rooted in the theme of Man and Nature, Plastic Pacific centres on the Great Pacific garbage patch to educate and heighten environmental awareness.
Ordinary zipper bags have been photographed and digitally manipulated to simulate a school of sea creatures. In drawing this parallel between the causes and effects of plastics accumulation in our oceans, this visual composition also serves to cultivate in students, the value of people-centredness by depicting a population sharing its values, respecting, celebrating diversity and participating in community life.
The artwork was also adapted as the cover design for the SOTA yearbook as well as a banner applied throughout the school space.
